Ideas, Ideas, Ideas: March

  • Green is the color for St. Patrick's Day.  Think of a St. Patrick's Day dinner where only green foods are served.  Make a class list of vegetables, fruits and dessert.
  • The vernal equinox arrives the third week of March each year.  What is the vernal equinox?  Record what you do on that day.  Visit for  details.  This website gives explaination on 3 levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced)
  • Have you ever eaten fried chicken purchased at KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken)?  The chain serves 8 million people a day in 80 countries.  How many will they serve in March?  April?
  • Scientists have said experiments show crows and jays to be the most intelligent of all birds.  Do some research on these "bird brains."
  • People are not the only creatures that build homes.  Describe a bird's nest, a beaver's home, a wasp's nest and a bee's home.  Name some other animals in your community and how they build their homes.
